Park #5: Yosemite National Park

Our National Parks visits have slowed down now that summer has come and gone, but we are still at it!  For our fifth park, we visited Yosemite National Park.  In 2016, during their centennial year, the National Parks Service ran a, "Find your Park," campaign.  While I have never met a National Park I did not like, Yosemite is the place where I feel most at home.

Summer Road Trip Part III of III: Yellowstone National Park (Park #3)

As they say, life got in the way, so this post is a belated--I hope you enjoy it anyway!

When I was in junior high, my Mom, sister, Grammy, and Pop-Pop loaded up in our Toyota Camry and drove to Yellowstone National Park.  This trip created many memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.  Some of these memories are what you would expect and some... are not.  My most vivid memory of the trip is driving through the middle of the Nevada desert with no air conditioning while chugging liters of water.  My Mom warned me that there were no bathrooms for many miles.  I was 13.  I ignored her.

Park #1: Death Valley NP (California)

The adventure begins!  Although I didn't know it at the time, Death Valley would be stop #1 on our quest to hit all 59 National Parks.  We visited DV in April 2017 on our trailer's inaugural voyage.  Death Valley has a desolate beauty that has to be experienced to be truly appreciated.  We marveled at the fact that, at times, we were likely the only people within a square mile or more of our location.  That is not something that one can often claim.
